I have a hearing tomorrow and would like to know what I may have forgotten. Thanks.
I wish I would have addressed college tuition and continuing child support as long as the child is a full time student. I also wish I had put in a clause about consistent visitation. My ex is SO wishy washy about visitation. Some times he comes sometimes he doesn’t. It is the worst feeling in the world to try to console your child while she cries herself to sleep because dad was a no show. I can’t even count how many times she sat with her bag packed staring out the window for hours waiting for her dad to come. It is awful. I would have added something about after so many missed visits without canceling at least 12 hours in advance than future visits are forfeited.

I divorced my first hubby (we had no children) and when we separated I left the home. He was to pay half the mortgage and I was to pay the other half. I pretty much paid it all. He was also supposed to pay the utilities , again I paid most of those bills. Then he trashed the place. We had a wall that was glass, the windows and sliding glass doors were huge expensive and went to the roof. He and a few friends took my breakfast bar and threw it through one window, tore up the carpet throughout the entire main floor, busted the kitchen counter, broke several doors, etc. I got the house in the divorce but in the condition he had left it in. I was furious that the Judge didn’t make him pay me any money for the repairs I had to make or the bills I had to pay.

I didn’t have child care expenses figured into the child support amounts, because at the time we didn’t need them. Now I do, so I have to petition a revision of child support. No fun. Also make sure you figure out who gets the kids on there taxes. Didn’t have that figured out, so in my state it goes by income, since I make less he gets to write them off on his taxes. That was a huge deduction I missed out on. Good Luck

No mention of ‘parents being flexible and working together’ – this was the loophole that allowed my husband’s ex to pretty much do whatever she wanted to do. He couldn’t take it to court, even when she was withholding him his parenting time for months at a time, not allowing phone calls, not sharing medical information, all because of that ‘flexible’ clause.
